Voter turnout stands at 51.2 per cent in Moldova by 18.30

Chisinau, 30 November /MOLDPRES/ - The voter turnout at the parliamentary polls, which exceeded the election validation threshold, stood at 51.2 per cent by 18.30.
The head of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), Iurie Ciocan, has said that 1,400,000 electors had already cast their ballots. "The most active voters are in the Rezina and Criuleni districts, where more than 55 per cent of the citizens included in the lists voted. The lowest voter turnout remains in Basarabeasca - 39.4 per cent," Ciocan said.
According to Ciocan, over 371,000 electors voted in Chisinau, which accounts for 55.7 per cent of all the voters. The voter turnout exceeded 50 per cent in Balti, Moldova's second largest city, too.
