Chisinau, 1 December /MOLDPRES/- The leader of the Democratic Party, Marian Lupu, has said “Moldova chose to continue its European path”, following the preliminary results of the 30 November parliamentary elections.
Lupu said the citizens had reconfirmed support for the European integration policies. He also added that “European vocation of our people, the will to develop in peace and continue the path in a civilised way” should be on the basis of post-election negotiations and formation of future ruling coalition.
Lupu thanked the voters for support provided to the Democrats. He assured that the PDM would remain faithful to all the commitments to citizens in the election campaign. “It is important to remain united in Moldova’s pro-European project. We have lessons to learn. It is much work. We will wait for the final results of the election, and I suppose that in the nearest future, we will initiate political negotiations focused on formation of a parliamentary majority”, he concluded.
Under the preliminary results put out by CEC, the PDM got 15.77 per cent of votes, following the processing of 89 per cent of the reports.
