Moldovan, European officials tackle tax-related issues

Chisinau, 5 December /MOLDPRES/ - The State Principal Fiscal Inspectorate (IFPS) will involve foreign tax experts in making fiscal controls. IFPS Head Ion Prisacaru made statements to this effect at a today meeting with Tax Advisor at the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) within the Tax Inspectors without Borders Initiative Bert Koster and long-term expert of the Swedish Tax Agency Carina Silbo, according to a press release by IFPS.
The involvement of experts from abroad in making fiscal controls will imply experience transfer to the staff of the State Fiscal Service (SFS) and will considerably optimise the carried out activities. Referring to the aforementioned initiative, Bert Koster specified that this was a beneficial programme, as it focused on practical work and experience of tax inspectors from European tax administrations could provide real support to Moldovan fiscal service in this field.
The sides agreed on the opportunity to implement the proposed project by involving the employees of the Swedish Tax Agency, as IFPS had already signed a three-year cooperation agreement with the agency. Ion Prisacaru gave instructions to the IFPS jurists to identify legal ways allowing to implement the project under way with the Swedish partners in the area.
