Earthquake of 3.5 degrees on Richter open scale jolts Moldova

Chisinau, 8 December /MOLDPRES/ - An earthquake of 4.5 degrees on Richter scale occurred in Vrancea, Romania, at a 40-km depth and a 261-kilometer distance far from Moldova, on 7 December at 23:04. The shakes were felt in Moldova too, the Institute of Geology and Seismology at the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, has reported.
In Moldova, the earthquake’s magnitude was of 3.5 grade degrees on Richter scale. The Civil Protection and Emergency Situations Service said the seism had caused no damage.
An earthquake of 5.6 degrees on Richter scale took place in the Vrancea county in late last November and was also felt in Moldova.
