Moldovan prosecution completes investigations on illegal sale of drugs

Chisinau, 9 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Prosecutor General's Office completed the prosecution on a criminal file opened against illegal circulation of drugs and psychotropic substances, in order to sell them, made by a group of persons, among whom an employee of the Chisinau International Airport Border Police.

In late last September, the border policeman was arrested by the General Prosecutor’s Office, and was documented for sale of a psychotropic substance, amphetamine, in big quantities. The policeman is also a drug consumer, according to the Chisinau municipal prosecutor's office.

Subsequently, an arrest warrant was issued against the border policeman. The criminal file was submitted to the Centru (Centre) district court of Chisinau for substantive examination.

If a sentence is issued, the defendants run the risk of being imprisoned for 7 years.
