Moldovan cabinet announces resignation

Chisinau, 10 December /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet announced its resignation at a today meeting, in the context of the validation of the results of the 30 November parliamentary elections by the Constitutional Court.
The government's statement of resignation will be submitted for consideration to the parliament, which is to held a meeting till 30 December. Till the new cabinet is sworn in office, the cabinet will fulfill only the public affairs' management duties.
The prime minister-in-office thanked the government members for cooperation. "Thank you that we have managed to create a positive, constructive atmosphere, and having the feeling of team, we succeeded in focusing on the problems of the society and in carrying many good things through. The homework remains valid and continuity will be the key principle the new cabinet of ministers is to be guided by," Iurie Leanca said.
Under the Moldovan Constitution, the government exercises its mandate till the date when the elections to a new parliament are validated.
