Moldovan incumbent government to provide excellence, nominal scholarships to candidates for doctor's degree

Chisinau, 10 December /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet members have approved a draft, submitted by the Academy of Sciences, on providing of excellence and nominal scholarships, according to sectors, to candidates for doctor's degree, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.
Following a contest, 20 candidates for doctor's degree were selected for excellence scholarships worth 2,500 lei each. At the same time, seven candidates will benefit from nominal scholarships amounting to 2,000 lei each.
The selection of the candidates was made on contest basis. Priority was given to the candidates with a higher average mark at the exams for doctor's degree, the ones who published in international and national magazines, are authors of invention patents, scientific and didactic textbooks, participate in national and international conferences with reports and essays, have diplomas.
The ordinary scholarships for candidates for doctor's degree are worth 1,000 lei on average.
