Unknown person robs exchange office, bank branch in north Moldova city

Chisinau, 11 December /MOLDPRES/ - An unknown person with a balaclava over his head and a gun entered a branch of a bank and an exchange office in northern Balti city at the noon today, trying to rob them.

The head of the press service at the General Police Inspectorate, Sabina Cojusnean, said the individual had a traumatic gun with bullets causing minor injuries.

„The man threatened the cashier of an exchange office located in the market of Balti city and stole 4,600 lei. Subsequently, he went to a commercial bank branch cross the street, shot two times and wounded the guard at the ear, and then ran away,” Cojusnean said.

At present, law-enforcers try to identify the person and apply the necessary sanctions.

In late last May, another armed attack took place at a shopping centre in Chisinau, when more individuals with balaclavas and bulletproof vests shot two collectors, of whom one died.
