Border policemen discover first forged Moldovan bio-metric passport

Chisinau, 19 December /MOLDPRES/ - A 30-year-old Moldovan citizen on 18 December was discovered by border policemen while attempting to cross the frontier with a forged Moldovan bio-metric passport, bought against 1,500 euros.
According to the border police, the man came to the Criva border checkpoint, north-western Moldova, in order to carry out the needed border-crossing formalities.
Having suspicions about the authenticity of the presented passport, the border policemen carried out additional verification by means of devices. The law-enforcers found out that the document was belonging to another person than the one who presented the passport, and the information leaf was falsified.
The citizen recognised that he had known about the falsehood in the document and that he acted in order to go to Germany, where he had been having an entry ban since 2011.
Presently, a criminal file was opened against this man, and he runs the risk of being fined with 6,000 lei or to be sentenced to two years of imprisonment.
