Moldovan parliament to hold constitutive meeting on 29 December

Chisinau, 23 December /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament will hold its constitutive meeting on 29 December, under a decree to this effect, signed by President Nicolae Timofti today.
The decision was announced after Nicolae Timofti had met the leaders of the parliamentary parties. According to the Moldovan Constitution, the new parliament is to convene at its constitutive meeting within 30 days following the elections at the latest.
After the 30 November parliamentary polls, five parties made it to the parliament. The Party of Socialists got most mandates– 25. It is followed by the Liberal Democratic Party with 23 mandates and Party of Communists with 21 mandates. The Democratic Party and Liberal Party have 19 and 13 mandates, respectively.
