Weather to cool in Moldova on next days

Chisinau, 23 December /MOLDPRES/ - The State Hydro-meteorological Service has forecast a drop in the air temperature to 8 degrees below zero for 24-30 December.

According to meteorologists, no precipitation is expected on 24 December. Afterwards, light rain and sleet are forecast in places and then in most regions on 26 December during the day and on 27 December at night.

The roads are to be covered with glazed frost on the second part of the period. The wind will blow from south-east, switching to north-west, weakly to moderately, gusting by the end of the period.

The minimal night-time air temperature will gradually drop from 0 - +6 degrees to -3 - -8 degrees by the end of the period.

During the day, the maximal air temperature will decrease from +5 - +12 degrees to -2 - +3 degrees.

According to the State Hydro-meteorological Service's multi-annual data /1886-2013/ on this period, the highest air temperature in Chisinau was +11.3 degrees Celsius on 24 December 1995 and the lowest - -19.9 degrees Celsius on 24 December 1902.
