Moldovan national army's land forces mark sixth anniversary

Chisinau, 24 December /MOLDPRES/ - Servicemen of the National Army's Land Forces' Command participated in over 30 national and international exercises in 2014. The structure's commander, colonel Iurie Bruma has made statements to this effect at a festivity held on the occasion of the command's sixth anniversary.
Bruma said the most important exercises, in which numerous contingents of the army had been involved, were Rapid Trident, Mission Readiness Exercise and Combined Endeavor, as well as the KFOR Mission, where the second contingent, made up of 40 military, worked at present.
Bruma specified that, in 2014, the servicemen of the Land Forces Command structures had contributed to re-establishing the military technology, as well as to the destruction of ammunition from Moldova. Thus, this year, sappers defused 1,026 explosive devices, including in the Security Zone.
Attending the event, Defence Minister Valeriu Troenco said the servicemen of the Command had proved a high professionalism in all activities in which they were involved, and were appreciated both by national and international experts.
On the occasion of the anniversary, the defence minister handed diplomas to a group of servicemen and civilains for special merits in troops' military education and labour performances.
The Land Forces' Command was set up in December 2008.
