Moldovan president conveys congratulatory message on Christmas holiday

Chisinau, 25 December /MOLDPRES/- President Nicolae Timofti today conveyed a message on the occasion of Christmas day, the presidential press service has reported.
The message reads:
"Dear fellow citizens,
The mystery of Christ's Birth urges us to rediscover the real values: faith, hope and love. Our kindness revives, raising compassion thrill to those sad, upset and estranged.
On Christmas, all roads lead to home, where simple things become magical, and the carol rekindle family and friendship ties. We will remember accomplishments and disappointments, joys and sorrows, with our dear ones.
One third of the Moldovan settlements celebrate Christmas in line with the Gregorian calendar on 25 December. The Orthodox Christians celebrating in conformity with the Julian calendar commemorated St. Spiridon miracle worker on 25 December and mark Christmas on 7 January.
Regardless of the calendar, Christmas is a holiday of soul. We will celebrate the birth of the Savior Jesus Christ with hope and faith along with Christians from Europe. which part we are.
On this occasion, I address all my best thoughts and wishes for health and love. We firmly believe that the coming year will be more fruitful and happier for all of us."
