Chisinau, 29 December /MOLDPRES/ - The leader of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), Vlad Filat, and the honorary leader of the Democratic Party (PDM), Dumitru Diacov, today voiced hope that the parliamentary majority would be created till mid-January 2015.
Vlad Filat said he regretted that the MPs had failed to form a parliamentary majority and elect the speaker and deputy speakers of the parliament at the first parliament meeting today. "It is important that, on the immediately next period, we continue the negotiations to set up the parliamentary majority. We have a very little time left till next mid-January," the PLDM leader said.
Dumitru Diacov said the next parliament meeting might take place on 12-13 January 2015, and the creation of a new ruling coalition could be announced at that time as well. "It is necessary that, on the first days of the new year, we have a ruling coalition and a clarity as regards the government," the PDM honorary leader said.
Both Filat and Diacov said that talks were presently held between PLDM, PDM and the Liberal Party and that the Party of Communists did not participate in the negotiations. The talks between these three parties, which have 55 mandates in the parliament, started in early December.
