Sixteen Moldovan settlements cut off electricity supply

Chisinau, 29 December /MOLDPRES/ - Sixteen settlements from the Hincesti, Straseni, Orhei, Cantemir, Cahul, Cimislia districts and Administrative Territorial Unit of Gagauzia were partly disconnected from power supply because of bad weather conditions, the Civil Protection and Emergency Situations Service has reported.

Due to heavy snowfall, it is difficult to travel in southern Moldova. Employees of the above-mentioned service intervened to unblock 20 cars, which could have blocked national highways. The traffic is also difficult in the villages of Valeni, Cislita Prut, Burlaceni and Iujnaia from southern Cahul district.

At present, snow-clearing works are undertaken and Service’s employees intervene in the southern region of Moldova, in order to prevent risky situations.
