Moldovan foreign ministry issues travel warning for more European states over heavy snowfall

Chisinau, 29 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Foreign and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) warns Moldovans about the fact that, due to heavy snowfall on the territory of more European states, among which Romania, Hungary, Austria, Germany, Belgium, France, Spain, yellow/orange codes of snowfall and blizzard has been issued for 29-31 December 2014, MAEIE’s information and media communication services has reported.

Thus, traffic jams are recorded on more highways and national roads of these states and there is a risk of snow drifts.

The Foreign and European Integration Ministry recommends that the Moldovan citizens and carriers get informed about the weather conditions in the country they intend to travel and be careful when driving.

The Moldovans in difficulty on the territory of the above-mentioned states may appeal to Moldova’s diplomatic missions and consulates for the needed assistance. In case of emergency, they may call the General Consular Affairs Department at the Foreign and European Integration Ministry:
