Nine Moldovan-Ukrainian border checkpoints cease working

Chisinau, 30 December /MOLDPRES/ - Nine Moldovan-Ukrainian border checkpoints have ceased working because of snow and the blocking of certain road segments on the Ukrainian side.

According to the Border Police, the following border checkpoints are blocked: Palanca - Maiaki Udobnoe; Tudora - Starokazacie; Ceadir-Lunga - Novie Troiani; Mirnoe - Tabaki; Vulcanesti - Vinogradovka; Saiti - Lesnoe; Ceadir-Lunga - Maloiaroslavet 1; Cismichioi - Dolinscoe; Giurgiulesti- Reni.

At the same time, at the border checkpoints at the frontier with Romania work as normal, excepting the point Giurgiulesti- Galati; where only high tonnage vehicles are allowed to pass.

Data put out by the Border Police shows that over 322,000 border crossings by people were recorded last week, - up by ten per cent against the week before.
