Traffic on some roads of southern Moldova restricted

Chisinau, 30 December /MOLDPRES/- The traffic was blocked on some road segments of southern Moldova because of 2.5-metres-high snow drifts.

According to the Transport and Road Infrastructure Ministry (MTID), presently, there is no traffic on several road segments of the following highways: Chisinau-Cimislia-Comrat-Vulcanesti-Giurgiulesti, Ceadir-Lunga-Comrat-Cantemir, Vulcanesti-Cahul-Taraclia, Tudora-Palanca- border with Ukraine.

Also, works are carried out to ensure access to some settlements from such districts as: Cahul, Cantemir, Comrat, Stefan Voda, Taraclia and Cimislia.

At the same time, MTID assured that the roads from northern and central regions of Moldova were passable. During the night, road-men distributed about 1,500 tons of anti-skid materials on national and local roads.
