Acting PM visits renovated school in central Moldovan district

Chisinau, 13 January /MOLDPRES/ - Acting Prime Minister Iurie Leanca today visited the Ion Pelivan Theoretical Lyceum from the village of Razeni, central Ialoveni district, where he attended the inauguration of a canteen which had been completely restored and equipped, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
This was made possible after a prime minister’s visit which took place three months ago, during which the issue of reconstructing the lyceum’s canteen was discussed. Thus, Iurie Leanca called on the Japan- Moldova-Ukraine Friendship Association, which donated over 700,000 lei to this end.
"The changes are obvious, visible. I thank Headmaster Adelina Ghetiu for her insistence which motivated us to find solutions to the problem. We will make every effort to make Razeni look like a European village, "said Iurie Leanca.
The prime minister also revealed some information about his family: "My parents met in Razeni. My father carried out his first internship here, as a mathematics student in Chisinau. He met my mother here, decided to create a family in which I was born and this always makes me lovingly remember Razeni".
Overall, to carry out the project of renovating the canteen of the Ion Pelivan Theoretical, the authorities spent over one million lei, - money provided by the Japan-Moldova-Ukraine Friendship Association, the Ialoveni district council, the lyceum’s contribution. Due to this project, the 824 high school students will eat in the restored cafeteria starting from 14 January.
Razeni mayor Ion Cretu informed that the local administration was planning the thermal insulation of the lyceum’s building, as well as purchasing a biomass boiler. The sum needed for the concerned project amounts to 5.2 million lei, with the financial resources already identified.
In the end, the students conveyed congratulations to the prime minister on St. Basil's eve.
