Moldovan woman killed in Odessa in armed attack

Chisinau, 15 January /MOLDPRES/ - Two persons from Moldova were target of an armed attack which occurred in the Beleaevsk district of the Odessa region, southern Ukraine, on 14 January. The woman died and the man was carried to reanimation in the wake of the incident.
According to the Ukrainian media, the man and the woman entered Ukraine by a Mercedes car, got up by an Audi vehicle, registered in Moldova too. At a certain moment, the people from Audi shot into the Mercedes car. As a result, the woman died and the man was hospitalised.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the head of the press service of the Foreign and European Integration Ministry, Ana Taban, has confirmed the information. Taban said the attackers, two men aged 28 and 30, had been already held at the border, at the Kuchurgan checkpoint.
The Foreign Ministry representative said the relatives of the two victims would go to Odessa today to carry out the needed formalities to repatriate the body. The woman, 27, was born in the Meseni village, northern Rezina district and the injured man is aged 40 and is from Chisinau.
Presently, law-enforcers from Ukraine investigate the exact circumstances of the tragedy.
