Chisinau, 16 January /MOLDPRES/- The Audiovisual Coordination Council (CCA) has set a goal to monitor broadcasters in terms of observing the percentage of domestic production.
CCA head Dinu Ciocan said the decision had been taken a 15 January meeting, taking into account the alarming situation on the audiovisual market, in which less than 30 per cent of programmes were broadcast in Romanian in peak hours. This seriously harms consumers' right to have access to quality local programmes.
“I ascertained such a situation in 2012, therefore, I adopted a decision in the same year. Subsequently, 14 broadcasters appealed it to court. On 17 September 2014, the Supreme Court of Justice rejected their appeal”, he said.
CCA will monitor, during 7 days, the programmes of the TV channels, Prime, Canal 3, Canal 2, RTR Moldova, TV 7, N 4, CTC Mega, TVC 21, Jurnal TV, Accent TV, ALT TV, Super TV, Acasa în Moldova, Euro TV, Bravo, Ren Moldova and PRO TV Chisinau.
Another important goal for CCA for 2015, in the context of the local elections, will be monitoring the balance and pluralism of opinions at informative programmes on TV channels.
CCA unanimously approved a report on its activity in 2014. The report will be submitted to parliament and placed on the website of the institution.
