Chisinau, 20 January /MOLDPRES/ - Representatives of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), Democratic Party (PDM) and Liberal Party (PL) held a new round of talks on setting up the ruling coalition on late last night.
PL leader Mihai Ghimpu said that, so far, the party had forwarded more proposals, which could identify a compromise, so that Moldova to be governed by PLDM, PDM and PL. ”We proposed to create a working group with the presence of the colleagues of the European family for three months and to find the formula on the way and procedure to elect the president within a coalition,” Ghimpu said. Ghimpu added that the Liberals did not claim the post of president, wanted four ministries and a foreigner to be appointed to the office of prosecutor general.
PDM leader Marian Lupu had another opinion. ”As regards the post of president, I understood that PL did not refuse to distribute it and only proposed not to discuss this issue now, but within three months,” Lupu said. Lupu added that the deadline for completing negotiations is Wednesday, 21 January, when the parliament’s meeting was to be summoned.
PLDM leader Vlad Filat said that the procedure to vote the parliament’s leadership was to be started on 21 January parliamentary meeting. ”No time has left. Tomorrow we will talk with our European partners and we are to convene in plenary meeting on Wednesday, and start to elect the parliament’s leading bodies. I hope we will come to the plenary meeting with an agreement on creating the ruling coalition signed. If we do not reach this understanding, we will meet in plenary meeting without a clear majority, requesting the MPs’ vote for voting the parliament’s leadership,” Filat said.
The negotiations between PLDM, PDM and PL on setting up the ruling coalition started in early past December.
