Chisinau, 20 January /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 15 groups of producers will be created in 2015.
Moldova Agriculture Competitiveness Project Coordinator Olga Sainciuc has said these groups would be able to access grants worth up to 350,000 dollars for the post-harvesting industry.
Acting Agriculture and Food Industry Minister Vasile Bumacov said that one of the greatest challenges of the project was to persuade Moldovan farmers to associate.
“With the project’s support, 18 groups of producers, bringing together over 100 farmers, were created in 2014. This is a very good result,” Vasile Bumacov said at a meeting on 19 January.
Within the Land Sustainable Management Post-Investment Grant Programme created for implementing soil conservation and soil erosion preventing practices, Olga Sainciuc highlighted that the 2015 year’s goal was to provide 100 grants of up to 20,000 dollars.
The above-mentioned World Bank-financed project has started in 2013. Two agriculture grant programmes - ”Facilitating access to sales markets” and ”Land Sustainable Management” are carried out within the project.
