Chisinau, 21 January /MOLDPRES/ - Representatives of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), Democratic Party (PDM) and Liberal Party (PL) also met today, in order to discuss the creation of a ruling coalition. The meeting took place a little time before the parliament’s extraordinary session. After the talks, the leaders of the Democrats and Liberal Democrats said the negotiations had got into a deadlock.
PL leader Mihai Ghimpu was the first to leave the meeting. He specified that a break was taken, afterwards the talks would continue.
„There is no move after this round of talks too. I ascertain a full blockage. Taking into account the fact that the parliament’s meeting is set, PDM calls upon all sound forces to find solutions to unblock this situation, which already becomes embarrassing,” PDM leader Lupu said.
PLDM leader Vlad Filat also stated that the negotiations entered a deadlock, without giving more details. „If no consensus is found till the beginning of the parliament’s meeting, we will start the procedure of electing the leadership of the parliament with or without a formalized parliamentary majority. PLDM will not make coalition or alliance with the Party of Communists. We count on finding a compromise. The discussions will continue,” Filat said.
The parliament is to hold a meeting today at 15.00. The MPs will try to elect the speaker and deputy speakers, create the standing bureau and set up the permanent commissions.
The talks between PLDM, PDM and PL were launched in early past December.
