Moldovan Liberals ready to continue talks on setting up ruling coalition

Chisinau, 23 January /MOLDPRES/ - The Liberal Party (PL) is ready to yield the Transports and Roads Infrastructure Ministry within the talks on the creation of a ruling coalition. The PL leadership made a statement to this effect at a today news conference.

The Liberals said that they might do this, in order „ to avoid an anti-European government in Moldova”. Instead, PL wants either the Economics Ministry or Finance Ministry.

The PL leader Mihai Ghimpu said that the Liberals were waiting to be invited to negotiations with the Liberal Democrats and Democrats, in order to find a solution to set up a parliamentary majority.

The MPs are to hold a meeting today, in order to try to elect the parliament’s leadership.
