Moldovan Liberal Democrats, Democrats sign alliance creation agreement

Chisinau, 23 January /MOLDPRES/ - The leaders of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) and the Democratic Party (PDM), Vlad Filat and Marian Lupu, respectively, signed an agreement on the creation of an alliance between the two parties at the parliament meeting today.
The new coalition will be called “Alianta pentru Moldova Europeana” (The Alliance for a European Moldova). "It will not be easy to carry out activities in such a situation with a minority government. Yet, I believe that we will succeed in promoting reforms for Moldova to continue its European path", said PLDM leader Vlad Filat before signing the agreement. The Liberal Democrats' leader added that the text of the agreement would be made public.
Vlad Filat today informed that PLDM and PDM had agreed to assume responsibility for government in the beginning of a today's parliament meeting. The two parties have 42 seats in the parliament.
The MPs today are to elect the parliament speaker and deputy speakers, form the permanent bureau and set up standing commissions.
