Moldovan Democratic Party puts forward candidate for parliament speaker office

Chisinau, 23 January /MOLDPRES/ - Democrat MP Andrian Candu is the candidate for the chair of parliament speaker. He was put up by the parliamentary faction of the Democratic Party (PDM).
Democrats' leader Marian Lupu made a statement to this effect at a today parliament meeting. The other fractions did not put forward candidates for this office.
A commission for the election of the parliament speaker was set up on 22 January. According to the Parliament Regulation, the parliament speaker is elected by secret ballot. The candidate who gets most votes is elected speaker.
The PLDM and PDM leaders said that they were forming a ruling coalition today. The two parties have 42 seats in the parliament.
