Moldovan foreign ministry's statement on armed attacks in eastern Ukraine

Moldova is deeply concerned about the dramatic escalation of the situation in eastern Ukraine and firmly condemns the attacks on Mariupol city, resulted in victims among civilians. We convey compassion and condolences to the mourning families and their relatives.

In the context, we underline the need of objective international investigations, including with the participation of the OSCE special monitoring mission in Ukraine, of multiple armed incidents, which affect the civil population from the region.

We appeal to the involved international actors to enhance their efforts, in order to cease fire and implement the Minsk agreements. Moldova speaks out for using all available international mechanisms, in order to establish peace and stability in the eastern regions of Ukraine, by observing sovereignty and territorial integrity of the neighbouring state.
