Three Moldovans arrested for illegal possession of explosives in Ukraine

Chisinau, 28 January /MOLDPRES/ - Two people holding Moldovan passports and one with papers issued in the Transnistrian region were detained by police in Odessa, Ukraine, on 27 January, after two kilograms of explosives, dampers, drug packages and grenades had been found in their car and on them.
According to the Ukrainian Interior Ministry, the suspects are members of a criminal ring operating on the territory of Moldova and Ukraine. The group would be specialised in committing murders, kidnappings and other serious crimes.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the head of the press service of the Foreign and European Integration Ministry, Ana Taban, confirmed the arrest of the three citizens by the Ukrainian side. She also said that representatives of the Moldovan Consulate in Odessa were constantly keeping in touch with the Ukrainian authorities to set details of this case.
