Chisinau, 28 January /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament of the 20th legislative period will have nine standing commissions. Their nominal composition was set at the parliament meeting today.
Thus, the parliament will include the juridical commission for rules and immunities, commission for foreign policy and European integration, economics, budget and finance commission, culture, education, research, youth, sports and mass media commission, public administration, regional development, environment and climate change commission, agriculture and food industry commission, human rights and inter-ethnic relations commission, social protection, health and family commission and national security, defence and public order commission.
The MPs of the factions of the Liberal Party (PL) and Party of Socialists (PSRM) showed discontent with the way the standing commissions had been distributed between the factions.
Under the parliament's regulation, the standing commissions are working bodies of the parliament, set up to carry out the latter's activity. The standing commissions are elected for the entire legislative period. The number, name, numerical and nominal composition of each commission are established by the parliament, at a proposal by the Standing Bureau.
After the standing commissions had been created, Speaker Andrian Candu informed about the end of the parliament's extraordinary session, which started on 21 January. An ordinary session of the parliament is to begin in next February.
