Moldova likely to have high-speed rail to join Chisinau-Bucharest-Kiev

Chisinau, 29 January /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova might have a high-speed railway due to join Chisinau with Bucharest and Kiev.
Recently in Istanbul, Turkey, Transport and Road Infrastructure Minister Vasile Botnari has discussed with the leaderships of the relevant Romanian and Ukrainian ministries the initiating of a joint regional project on building the above-mentioned railway.
”We are to take a decision of principle, afterwards we are to switch to working out the investments projects and feasibility studies, in order to see the options, costs and identify financing sources,” Vasile Botnari said.
In the context, State Secretary of the Romanian Transport Ministry Maria Magdalena Grigore highlighted that the Romanian authorities had been already negotiating with Chinese companies the construction of a high-speed rail between Bucharest and Iasi, which is to continue to Moldova.
Ukrainian Deputy Infrastructure Minister Oksana Reiter also showed interest in carrying out such a project.
