Moldovan deputy foreign minister participates in GUAM Council's meeting

Chisinau, 29 January /MOLDPRES/ - Acting Deputy Foreign and European Integration Minister Valeriu Chiveri today participated in the 33rd meeting of the Council of National Coordinators of the Organisation for Democracy and Economic Development (GUAM), held under the aegis of the Ukrainian chairmanship, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.
The officials considered the activities on GUAM’s agenda, among which promoting the political dialogue, interaction within international structures, developing cooperation in the economic area, transport, energy, as well as other sectors of mutual interest. At the same time, the participants exchanged opinions on the events that are to be carried out within GUAM in the near future.
Also in Kiev, Valeriu Chiveri met Ukrainian First Deputy Foreign Minister Natalia Galibarenko. The sides addressed priority issues on the Moldovan-Ukrainian bilateral ties agenda, especially promoting the political dialogue and cooperation in the economic, cultural and humanitarian sectors, European integration, regulation of ownership rights, ecology, energy, demarcation of the state border, Transnistrian conflict settlement.
The officials emphasised the importance of maintaining a positive dynamic of bilateral ties at different levels and spoke out for continuing and expanding cooperation in sectors of common interest.
