Slovakia, Moldova to jointly carry out urban planning project

Chisinau, 30 January /MOLDPRES/ - Slovakia and Moldova will jointly conduct a project on developing urban planning of towns in the region. Deputy Regional Development and Construction (MRDC) Minister Liviu Oboroc and Senec Pezinok Regional Development Agency Director Luba Pavlovova on 29 January discussed bilateral cooperation between countries, including priority actions to be carried out within the project, the Regional Development and Constructions Ministry information and media communication service has reported.

"We agreed to develop the exchange of experience in the context of the implementation of the Energy Performance of Buildings European Directive and the implementation of programmes to support energy performance of buildings. We will also take over the best practices of Slovakia in the development of analysis and programming documents regarding cross-border programmes and projects and in developing regional support programmes for economically underdeveloped  regions", said Deputy Minister Liviu Oboroc.

He added that the building cities' capacities on integrated urban planning in regional context project, conducted jointly with Slovakia in January 2015 - April 2016, aims to provide a better quality of life in cities and their surroundings.

"We will support Moldova with the best practices to adjust the legal framework in the field of regional development and construction to EU level. At the same time, within the project, we expect further knowledge transfer activities on integrated urban planning to Moldovan regional development institutions and local public authorities", said Luba Pavlovova, for her part.
