Moldovan, Chinese officials tackle economic cooperation, ties, investments

Chisinau, 30 January /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Economics Minister Octavian Calmic met the director general of the Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau from Ningbo, China, Danhua Yu, on 29 January. The officials addressed prospects of deepening the economic cooperation between Moldova and China. The sides underlined the interest in developing ties between the two states, by fostering the economic cooperation, including the Moldovan and Chinese investment possibilities, the Economics Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.
Octavian Calmic stressed that the taxes and strict rules of the Chinese market made the entrance of the Moldovan companies more complicated and therefore, the Chinese government’s support was very important for Moldovan producers.
The Chinese side presented the opportunities and preferential policy for Moldovan economic agents’ participation in international exhibitions held in China. At the same time, the officials voiced the willingness and need of Moldovan companies to take part in CEEC Fair, due in Ningbo on 9-12 June 2015.
The Chinese official said that Moldova was one of those 16 countries with which China maintained closer ties. Besides, the Chinese delegation praised the high quality of the Moldovan products, especially of wines, juices, honey, leather clothes, and furs.
The sides also approached the facilitating the increase of exports in Moldovan agricultural products to China, implementing investment projects in industry and agriculture, as well as taking over the Chinese experience in railway sector.
The above-mentioned bureau is a component of the Chinese governing, in charge of the foreign trade, foreign investments and economic cooperation. Ningbo is located in a free trade zone and is a commercial port in the Zhejiang province.
