Moldovan parliament starts spring regular session

Chisinau, 3 February /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu today chaired a working meeting with the heads of the standing commissions and deputy parliament speakers. The discussions focused on the efficient organisation of the work within specialised commissions, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.
Andrian Candu said the fields of activity of the parliamentary commissions would be clearly established, as a result of more amendments to Parliament Regulations. Thus, each deputy speaker would be in charge of the work of certain commissions.
The parliament speaker urged the commissions' heads to enhance the quality of the parliament’s activity. In this context, Andrian Candu asked them to consider the recommendations by the Constitutional Court to the parliament, according to their field of competence, to check drafts under consideration to propose the parliament's plenum an updated list of legislative acts for examination. To this effect, Andrian Candu said that more European parliamentary practices would be taken over to ensure additional quality elements when drafts reach the parliament for examination.
Presently, there are 126 drafts for consideration and four laws for reconsideration on the agenda of the parliamentary commissions. Most drafts are under consideration at the Committee for Economy, Budget and Finance - 29 drafts, juridical committee for rules and rules and immunities - 26 drafts, commission tee for public administration, regional development, environment and climate change - 25 drafts.
Andrian Candu also said the Standing Bureau would convene at a meeting on 4 February. The Bureau will propose the date of the parliament’s first plenary meeting of this session. The standing committees’ meetings will also be held on 4 February in the renovated building of the parliament.
