Moldovan deputy premier for reintegration, OSCE special representative tackle Transnistrian conflict-related issues

Chisinau, 9 February /MOLDPRES/ - Acting Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Eugen Carpov met Special Representative of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Chairman-in-Office for the Transnistrian Settlement Process, Ambassador Radojko Bogojevic today. The officials met in the context of preparing the agenda of the five-plus-two talks for 2015, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.

Radojko Bogojevic reviewed the OSCE chairmanship’s priorities for this year and underlined that the organisation continued to be deeply involved in the Transnistrian conflict settlement, in order to achieve as many results as possible.

For his part, Eugen Carpov thanked Radojko Bogojevic for the efforts taken and his involvement in 2014. “Together, in a difficult year at regional level, we ensured continuity of the dialogue in the settlement process, as well as the stability in the Security Zone,” Carpov said.

At the same time, Eugen Carpov drew the attention to the enhancing of Tiraspol's unilateral and uncoordinated actions over the past months and stressed that, after the new government was sworn in office, the activities of the working groups and meetings of political representatives would be resumed. In the context, Carpov gave assurances that the Moldovan authorities would take sustained efforts in order to advance the five-plus-two talks.

Radojko Bogojevic reiterated the need to maintain an active political dialogue within the settlement process, as well as to optimise the activity of the sectoral working groups.

Radojko Bogojevic will also pay a visit to Tiraspol today.
