Chisinau, 12 February /MOLDPRES/ - Iurie Leanca, the candidate nominated for the office of prime minister, today presented the new Cabinet of Ministers’ action programme to the MPs.

The government’s action programme  for the years 2015-2018 contains 17 chapters. Premier-designate Iurie Leanca described the programme as "ambitious, but realistic". According to him, the fight against corruption will be a priority for the government. The cabinet’s future actions will be focused especially on the justice reform, reintegration, and economic development.

In particular, the new government intends to invite a mission of EU experts to assist the activity of law enforcement bodies, to amend the procedure for appointing the prosecutor general and to adopt a new Labour Code.

Under the programme, the surest way to achieve the objectives contained in the document is European integration. For this, the government aims to create all the prerequisites that will ensure Moldova’s eligibility for getting the status of candidate country for EU accession. "The Association Agreement will be the basic book of our work," said Leanca.

"The discussions we had in recent days with representatives of pro-European parties gave me reasons to believe that there are prerequisites to have a pro-European parliamentary majority," said the prime minister-designate. Iurie Leanca also said that the new government members were proposed by pro-European parties, and not by the opposition.

To elect a new government the vote of at least 51 MPs is needed. Only 42 Democrats and Liberal Democrat MPs have expressed intention to back the second Leanca government so far.
