New Moldovan government fails to get confidence vote in parliament

Chisinau, 12 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Leanca II government did not get the vote confidence in the parliament today. Only 42 lawmakers backed the new cabinet, while the vote of at least 51 MPs is needed to for a new government to be sworn in office.
Under the Constitution, if the parliament does not give the vote of confidence to the government, the president is to put up another candidacy for the post of prime minister. If the second attempt to give a vote of confidence fails, the parliament may be dissolved.
