Moldovan Party of Communists opts for business person for office of premier

Chisinau, 13 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Party of Communists (PCRM) speaks out for the appointment of a candidate for the office of premier from the business environment. President Nicolae Timofti and Communist MPs made statements to this effect today after meeting.
The leader of the PCRM parliamentary faction, Violeta Ivanov, said the Communist MPs proposed that the president summoned all factions to identify a candidate for prime minister post. She set out the qualities the future prime minister should have. "We stressed the need for the prime minister to have a prepared team, who should obeys the prime minister and not political leaders. The candidate must be responsible, competent, have experience. He/she may be from the business sector, "said Ivanov.
The spokesman for the president, Vlad Turcanu, said it was possible that another candidature for the office of prime minister was clear early next week.
President Nicolae Timofti today resumed consultations with parliamentary factions to nominate a candidate for prime minister after the sides had failed to give a vote of confidence to a new government on 12 February. Consultations will continue on 14 February, when the president will meet with parliamentary factions of the Party of Socialists, Liberal Democratic Party, Democratic Party and Liberal Party.
