Moldovan Communists, Liberal Democrats to support new cabinet's swearing in office

Chisinau, 18 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Party of Communists (PCRM) and the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) will support the swearing in office of the new government.
PCRM leader Vladimir Voronin said the Communist MPs would support the Gaburici government, as lawmakers were obliged to do their utmost to solve the problems of citizens. "There is no time for opposing confrontation. Our faction hopes that the appointment of a candidate with experience in joining efforts of large collectives can have a positive impact on the government’s work, even if its nominal composition leaves much to be desired, "said Voronin. The Communist leader added that the party he leads would not "ask for ministries or positions but will place the government’s activity under a tough parliamentary control."
PLDM Leader Vlad Filat urged the MPs to back the appointment of the new government, given the difficult situation Moldova was facing.
Prime Minister-designate Chiril Gaburici today came to the parliament to request a vote of confidence on the government's action programme and full list of the its members. At least 51 MPs are needed for the swearing in office a new Cabinet of Ministers.
