Moldovan parliament approves dismissal of more MPs

Chisinau, 20 February /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament took note of the dismissal of 12MPs today. The lawmakers gave up their mandates due to incompatibility of posts.
The above-mentioned MPs are Communist Ion Tomai, who chose to keep the post of Ocnita district head and Liberal Democrat Grigore Belostecinic, who ruled to further serve as rector of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova. Liberals Dorin Chirtoaca, Chisinau Mayor, Veronica Herta, head of Finance Department at the Chisinau City Hall, and Mihai Moldovanu, head of the health department at the Chisinau City Hall, also gave up their mandates.
At the same time, the lawmakers who got offices of ministers renounced the mandate. These are Liberal Democrats Natalia Gherman, Oleg Balan and Maia Sandu, and Democrats Vasile Bitca, Vasile Botnari, Pavel Filip and Monica Babuc.
As a result, 12 MP mandates remain vacant. The Central Electoral Commission is to examine, within 10 days, the alternate candidates on the lists of the Party of Communists, Liberal Democratic Party, Democratic Party and Liberal Party and forward them to the Constitutional Court, in order to validate the mandate.
Also today, the parliament decided to dismiss Vera Macinsckaia from the post of judge at the Supreme Court of Justice, as she got the age threshold.
