Chisinau, 20 February /MOLDPRES/ - A new online platform "scoalamea.md" was launched in Chisinau today, in order to provide users with access to the budgets of the schools from all over Moldova.
At the launch event, Education Minister Maia Sandu said that this platform would serve as a guide for pupils, parents and teachers in terms of public hearings, requests on budgetary data, signaling problems, etc.
"Scoalamea.md will provide solutions to more pressing problems faced by schools, such as: corruption, lack of pupils' involvement in activities, and will strengthen the relation between teachers and pupils," Maia Sandu said.
The "scoalamea.md" platform is part of a project financed by the World Bank, which provides for the selection of 100 schools during five years, where awareness-rising and participation actions - public hearings, budgets presentations etc. - will be implemented.
"The public institutions work best of all when they can be monitored by citizens. In this way, the schools selected in the project will be really responsible before the entire community," World Bank Country Manager for Moldova Alexander Kremer has said.
The "scoalamea.md" is financed by the World Bank Group within the Global Partnership for Social Responsibility, with the information support of Moldova's Education Ministry.
