Moldova opens new consulate in Turkey

Chisinau, 24 February /MOLDPRES/ - Secretary General of the Foreign and European Integration Ministry Mihai Capatina participated in the inauguration of a new Moldovan Honorary Consulate in Manisa and Izmir, Turkey, on 23 February, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has provided.
Attending the event were Moldova’s Ambassador to Turkey Igor Bolboceanu, representatives of local and central authorities, as well as the governor of Manisa province and representative of the Turkish Foreign Ministry in Izmir province, business people, representatives of culture and education institutions, diplomatic missions and honorary consuls of other states.
During his visit, Mihai Capatina met the governors of provinces Manisa and Izmir, as well as the chairman of the Izmir Chamber of Commerce. The officials tackled the strengthening of the bilateral cooperation, especially the development of economic ties.
