Moldovan deputy foreign minister takes part in informal meeting of foreign ministers from regional forum member states

Chisinau, 24 february /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Foreign and European Integration Minister Iulian Groza today participated in the second informal meeting of the foreign ministers from the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) member states. The event was held by the Albanian chairmanship of this regional forum in Tirana, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry's (MAEIE) information and media communication service has reported.
The meeting's agenda included discussions on the latest evolutions, progress made in the European integration of SEECP member states and the organisation's future.
In his speech, Deputy Minister Iulian Groza reconfirmed Moldova's full support for the agenda proposed by the Albanian chairmanship of SEECP. Also, the Moldovan official stressed the importance Moldova attaches to this forum and regional cooperation, in the context of the country's European aspirations.
In the end, the participants in the meeting adopted a joint declaration on terrorism. According to the statement, the officials recognised that the terrorism represents a direct threat to peace, security and stability in the region, in Europe and worldwide, and spoke out for joining efforts in fighting this phenomenon.
On visit to Tirana, Iulan Groza met Albanian Deputy Foreign Minister Odeta Barbullushi. The officials discussed recent developments in the European integration of both countries, as well as opportunities to extend the political dialogue and the bilateral commercial and economic cooperation. At the same time, the Moldovan official welcomed a 2014 decision by Albania to abolish the visa regime for the Moldovans, and informed that a similar proposal had been submitted to the Moldovan parliament and was to be passed in the near future.
