Head of OSCE Mission to Moldova backs importance of resuming Chisinau-Tiraspol active dialogue

Chisinau, 25 February /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Victor Osipov today had a meeting with Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Michael Scanlan, the bureau for reintegration has reported.
The two officials reviewed the situation in Moldova's eastern districts, the Security Zone, as well as in the Transnistrian conflict settlement process. The deputy prime minister said the investiture of the new government might be an opportunity to give positive impetuses both to the Chisinau-Tiraspol dialogue and the five-plus-two negotiations. Victor Osipov described as a common important goal maintaining of stability and climate of peace in the region, as well as the looking for new possibilities to foster the activity of the working confidence-building groups, which should help remove sensitive problems.
For his part, Michael Scanlan backed the importance of resuming the active 1+1 dialogue within the working groups in other formats as well, to discuss the entire spectrum of issues of common interest for both sides, and to create a positive dynamic of the settlement process. The OSCE official welcomed such a willingness of the Moldovan authorities, voiced after the break caused by the parliamentary polls and government formation process.
