Chisinau, 26 February /MOLDPRES/ - Former Prime Minister Iurie Leanca today announced that he leaves the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) and will launch a new political project. Leanca added that he also quits the Liberal Democrats parliamentary factions. PLDM has not comment yet Leanca’s decision.
Leanca also gave up the post of PLDM first deputy chairman. He reasoned his position by the fact that "his political project does not coincide with LPDM actions over the past months".
Leanca also said that soon he would initiate a political project, "which will be built and financed by citizens’ contributions as transparent as possible and not by money with unclear origin".
Iurie Leanca was PLDM first deputy chairman. He held the prime minister office for May 2013 – February 2015. At the end of past January, Leanca was nominated as candidate for the post of prime minister, but the new government did not manage to get the parliament’s confidence vote.
