U.S. deputy secretary of state reiterates support for continuing reforms in Moldova

Chisinau, 3 March /MOLDPRES/ - The United States will continue to support Moldova in implementing reforms. U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Antony Blinken conveyed a message to this effect during a press conference held jointly with Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici in Chisinau today.
"The relation between our countries has never been stronger. I came today to Chisinau to express our continuous support for Moldova and reiterate support for the reforms the Moldovan authorities will continue on the European integration path," said Antony Blinken.
Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici said the U.S. official’s visit was a proof of the ongoing U.S. political support for Moldova’s democratic developments, reformation and modernisation of the country. "We are still relying on the active role of U.S. partners in the five-plus-two negotiations on the Transnistrian conflict settlement. We are counting on the United States’ support in the process of modernising the country", said the prime minister.
Assistant Secretary of State Antony Blinken pays visits to France, Moldova, Great Britain, Germany and Ukraine on 2 – 7 March.
