More development partners convey recommendations on development to Moldovan government

Chisinau, 4 March /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici and Moldova’s development partners community members assembled at the government today. The donors’ representatives conveyed to the prime minister a document with recommendations for policies and reforms that will help the Moldovan authorities meet the development challenges, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The officials noted that this document showed the development partners’ willingness to help the government cope with the country’s biggest challenges. The 30 chapters include concrete actions to strengthen the banking sector, improve the economic environment, to effectively enforce the provisions of the Free Trade Area with the European Union, reform the justice system and fight corruption.
"Our country received significant support from European countries. We will carefully analyse the proposals you described. Some of them are already under way, while others are to be carried out. This s a new beginning Moldova's relations with its development partners," noted Chiril Gaburici.
The development partners appreciated the government's intention to continue the modernisation of Moldova and noted that the document contained concrete actions for the short, medium and long term ,on key issues related to the development of the country.
The guidelines were developed by the United Nations, World Bank, European Union Delegation to Moldova, United States Agency for International Development (USAID), German International Cooperation Agency, Austrian Development Agency, Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, in coordination with U.S., Swedish, Swiss, German and Austrian diplomatic representatives.
