Pensions to be indexed by almost eight per cent in Moldova starting from 1 April

Chisinau, 4 March /MOLDPRES/ - The pensions will be indexed by 7.95 per cent starting from 1 April 2015, under a today's government decision.

At the cabinet meeting, Labour, Social Protection and Family Minister Ruxanda Glavan said the percentage of indexation had been calculated following analysing the increase of the average salary on the economy and the consumer prices index for 2014. The sum needed to index the social benefits is 517 million lei.

After the indexation, the average quantum of the age limit pension will increase by 89 lei, the invalidity pensions will rise by slightly over 69 lei and the loss-of-breadwinner pension - by almost 45 lei. The pensions of the participants in the Chernobyl relief works will be by 189 lei higher.

Starting from 1 April 2015, the size of the minimal age limit pension for agriculture sector employees will be of 767 lei, and for the other beneficiaries of age limit pensions - 861 lei.
