Chisinau, 5 March /MOLDPRES/- Private broadcasters will be obliged to make public the name of their owners. This is seen in a draft law passed by the parliament in the second reading, with the vote of 79 MPs, today.
The draft law provides for amendments and completions to the Audiovisual Code. Under the document, the private broadcasters will be obliged to yearly publish an activity report till 1 May and unveil it to the Audiovisual Coordination Council (CCA). The report will have to include especially "owner's name and the financial sources of programme service."
This legislative initiative also proposes concrete procedures on broadcasters' participation in a contest to get broadcasting license. In this context, the information on the participant in the contest is to be published on CCA's website.
The law will enter into force in six months after publication in the Official Paper (Monitorul Oficial).
